A small brush fire that had spread in the Santa Ana riverbed in Eastvale was almost contained Wednesday evening, May 3, with full containment expected in the morning, the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department said.
The fire was reported at 7700 block Cobble Creek Drive and broke out shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday, according to Cal Fire. As of Wednesday evening the fire’s forward progress had been stopped at 5 acres.
No injuries or evacuations had occurred, and the fire was 99 percent contained as of 7 p.m., Cal Fire said.
Firefighters were working to fully contain the blaze before mopping up, with the cause of the fire still under investigation.
