Hormel Introduces Tocino Spam
Spam is so big in the Philippines that in 2014 Hormel introduced Tocino Spam. Tocino, which in Spanish means bacon, is a sweet and salty cured pork. In Filipino cuisine, it is eaten at breakfast, part of a meal called tosilog, which is tocino served with garlic fried rice and an over-easy fried egg. Just like Spam, tocino goes perfect with fried, runny eggs and rice, so creating this new flavor was genius!
Nothing beats waking up to smell of frying Spam, this Tocino Spam adds a new twist to the Tosilog Filipino breakfast. Sarap!
Yes, SPAM® Tocino is back to steal your hearts! This legendary flavor is making Filipino fans head-over-heels. Tocino is sweet cured meat similar to Chinese Char Siu or sweet Bacon. SPAM specifically made this sweet and meaty flavor for their Filipino fans all over the world!

The term “silog” is a kind of Filipino breakfast that includes both SI as in sinangag and LOG as in itlog or egg. For Tosilog, short for Tocino Silog, it included Tocino as its protein.

Top rice with 2 lumpia (cut to fit if necessary); drizzle with sweet chili sauce and 1 tablespoon green onions. Place one slice of SPAM® on top of musubi stack and press down. Remove press.
