New Zealand Flax (Phormium ‘Golden Ray’). This photo shows the propagated result of the sectioning. We removed two 1-foot sections of the tall stalk, planted the top section with its foliage, and planted the two small sections. The sections should develop roots and create a cluster of these attractive plants with variegated leaves. (Courtesy Tom Karwin)
