SDUT staff receive 38 awards at SPJ dinner

The newspaper also received the 2024 Excellence in Journalism Award for its in-depth project, '72 Hours: Inside San Diego County's Mental Health Crisis.'

The San Diego Union-Tribune Staff received 38 awards at the annual San Diego Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists banquet for work published in 2023. The newspaper earned 19 first-place awards, nine second-place awards and 11 third-place awards.

The newspaper also received the 2024 Excellence in Journalism Award for its in-depth project, “72 Hours: Inside San Diego County’s Mental Health Crisis.”
