San Diego is a melting pot of cultural diversity and traditional heritage. To celebrate the region’s ethnic roots, the city is hosting two community festivities this weekend. The 19th annual San Diego Multicultural Festival on Saturday features a mixture of music and dance, storytelling, children’s activities, food and global villages. On Sunday, the 37th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Parade, heralded as one of the largest celebrations of its kind in the United States in honor of Dr. King, will pay tribute to the civil rights leader with floats, marching bands, drill squads, speakers and more.
