During its SDC 2022 event yesterday, Samsung revealed that it has simplified the Bixby Routines feature on its smartphones so that more people can use it. The company is now calling it Modes, a part of the new Modes And Routines app. It is debuting with One UI 5.0 on Galaxy smartphones.

With Modes, the company has some pre-set routines, such as Driving, Exercise, and Relax, that you can activate with ease after answering some simple questions. Samsung says the Modes feature can help many people focus on what matters the most through simple automation. The Modes And Routines app is already live in One UI 5.0 on phones running the software's beta version.

The South Korean firm said it plans to bring the Modes And Routines app to more devices, including smartwatches and tablets, shortly. The feature will arrive on Galaxy Tab devices with the One UI 5.0 update. But the company didn't reveal which firmware or software version will bring the new feature to Galaxy Watches.

If you're using One UI 5.0 beta on your smartphone, have you used the Modes And Routines app? Let us know in the comments section below.

Turn off Always On Display automatically at night on your Galaxy phone

Samsung has pioneered Always On Display technology for mobile phones. Other brands have borrowed AOD in recent years, but Samsung arguably does it best, especially with the release of the Galaxy S24 series, which boasts an upgraded AOD. The Always On Display is a useful tool that allows Galaxy phone users to get information about […]

Don’t let the Galaxy Watch health sensor wake you up at night

Samsung's ‘Modes and Routines‘ feature lets Galaxy device users automate tasks (Routines) and create system-wide settings presets (Modes). The feature is very clever but often feels optional, and because it works in the background more often than not, it's easy to forget it exists. However, there is at least one Mode in Modes and Routines […]
