Samsung launches IoT credit card that you can find using your phone

Samsung has launched a new credit card with Internet of Things (IoT) features, thanks to its Bluetooth LE connectivity. If you lose or misplace the card, you can find its location using the Samsung Find (called SmartThings Find earlier) app.

This card is called the KB Kookmin SkyPass IoT Titanium Card.

Today, Samsung launched a new credit card in South Korea in partnership with KB Kookmin Card. It is called the KB Kookmin SkyPass IoT Titanium Card, and it is issued by American Express. So, what is so special about this card? It features Bluetooth LE connectivity and can be located when you lose or misplace it.

You can use the Samsung Find app to locate it. If you lose your wallet and this IoT credit card is in it, you can use the Samsung Find app to locate it. You can also view its location history for the past seven days.

Moreover, you can use this credit card to find your phone's location. You can do that by pressing the button at the bottom of the credit card after setting up the Find And Notify feature. The card can be charged using a wireless charger, and its battery lasts up to 30 days on a single charge.

This card will only be issued to 1,000 applicants on a first-come, first-serve basis. You can apply for this credit card from KB Kookmin Card's website and the KB Pay app from June 27, 2024.

American Express, KB Kookmin Card, and Samsung Electronics signed a memorandum of understanding to launch IoT cards in September 2023, and the first such card is now available.

Samsung Electronics Vice President Park Chan-woo said, “We will expand the application of the SmartThings Find platform to partner products that require location verification, such as IoT credit cards. Through ongoing partnerships, we will expand the ecosystem of SmartThings Find application technologies to create meaningful connection experiences for customers. We will strengthen the benefits and benefits.
