Your Galaxy device with S Pen could get an exciting AI-powered drawing feature

Samsung introduced several AI-powered features with the Galaxy S24 series. Some of those features were then released to older high-end phones with the One UI 6.1 update. It is now reported that Samsung will introduce an AI-powered drawing assistance feature with the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

That feature could be released to several older Galaxy phones and tablets with the One UI 6.1.1 update.

One UI 6.1.1 could bring AI drawing to Galaxy S, Galaxy Tab, and Galaxy Z Fold devices with S Pen

According to reliable tipster Ice Universe, One UI 6.1.1 on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will have an AI Graffiti feature. While the tipster didn't delve into the details of this feature, it might help users draw better using the S Pen and generate images based on users' inputs through text prompts. This feature will reportedly be released to older Galaxy devices with the S Pen with the One UI 6.1.1 update.

Since only high-end Galaxy phones and tablets, particularly from the Galaxy S, Galaxy Tab, and Galaxy Z series, get Galaxy AI features, we expect the AI-powered drawing feature from One UI 6.1.1 to be released to Galaxy Tab S8, Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Z Fold 4, and Galaxy Z Fold 5 series devices.

Some devices, like the Galaxy S23 and the Galaxy S24, might get this feature with the One UI 7.0 update (since regular phones usually don't get One UI x.x.1 updates). Still, nothing can be said for certain until Samsung releases official information about it.

A similar feature was introduced by Apple with the iPadOS 18 update. Apple's Image Wand feature uses rough drawings and AI to make them look better and more finished. It can also create images using the text and context from nearby areas in the Freeform and Notes apps.

The story continues after the video below.

Author's Note: While the Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy S22 Ultra, Galaxy Tab S7, and Galaxy Z Fold 3 are eligible to get the One UI 6.1.1 and One UI 7.0 updates, we can't say for sure whether this AI-powered drawing feature will be released to those models due to their older processors and NPUs not being as powerful as the ones used in phones released in the past couple of years.

However, we can't rule out the possibility of those phones and tablets getting AI-powered drawing and image generation features, and only Samsung can tell which devices will get them. Expect more information about this to be revealed sometime in late July or August 2024.
