New leak hints at exactly what to expect from Exynos 2200’s performance

There has been a lot of hype around Samsung's upcoming flagship chipset—Exynos 2200—because it will come with an AMD GPU instead of an ARM GPU. Some reports claimed that the new chip would offer a huge jump in graphics performance and even beat Apple's A-series chips. However, none of those reports mentioned exactly what kind of performance improvement we can expect from the Exynos 2200.

A new report from tipster @FrontTron claims that the Exynos 2200 offers 31% to 34% faster peak performance compared to the Exynos 2100. Moreover, the upcoming flagship chip will reportedly offer 17% to 20% improved sustained performance than its predecessor. Compared to the Snapdragon 888, the fastest chipset in the Android ecosystem right now, the Exynos 2200 is said to have “a big difference,” particularly in the 3DMark (Wild Life) benchmark.

These performance numbers are reportedly from pre-release hardware and software, which means we can expect even better performance in the future. The report also claims that the Exynos 2200 will use ARM v9 CPU architecture, which means that it will use ARM's new CPU cores: Cortex-X2, Cortex-A710, and Cortex-A510. We can also expect the chipset to come with an integrated 5G modem and the latest Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity standards.

The Exynos 2200 is reported to be a 4nm chipset, and it will debut with the Galaxy S22 series. However, it is being reported that only a few markets (Europe and South Korea) will get the Exynos versions of the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra, while other markets (including India and the US) will get the Snapdragon 898 variants of the phones.
