I went in not expecting much but a few background laughs, but this was more poignant, intelligent and ambitious than I hoped for. I watched a lot of this at the gym and nearly fell off the stairmaster during a few gags, and it gets good early on. An episode about a planned gang fight is insane. But I dare say the second season is even better. The caveat is that I expect certain viewers — look, a lot of people don't share my dark sense of humor or (yet) get the references about getting "older," etc. so it might not be for everyone, but This fool was a sharp and sweet delight imo.
