Critics Consensus

Valiant has a good collection of voice talents, but the story is strictly by-the-numbers.

Dale R A 3D animated feature created by Vanguard Animation and released in the United States by Disney. This film features a group of homing pigeons that must take a message from France to England during World War II. This is Vanguard’s first feature film and you can tell because the animation is not very good. The character designs are weird and a little off putting, the backgrounds are not consistent and do not match the character animation for most of the film. There is some serious talent in the voice acting: Ewan McGregor, Ricky Gervais, Tim Curry, John Cleese and Hugh Laurie, with all of them doing a good job with what they got. The writing is not very good and storyboarding did not produce great scenes. I would encourage you to not waste your time with this film. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/07/24 Full Review Luca K Incredibly disrespectful and horrible to watch Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/27/24 Full Review Adrian E This movie is just terrible Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/25/24 Full Review StephenPaul C LOL, the funniest 1.25 hours ever!!!!!!!!!!! Starring the voices of Ewan McGregor, and Tim Curry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/12/23 Full Review Chris M Critics find the stupidest things to find a movie "bad" when it's not. This one the story is strictly by-the-numbers. SO! WHO THE FUCK CARES! It's a kid's movie about talking pigeons? What the fuck did you want? "The Sixth Sense" style twist? Just because there's no surprises or twist don't make it bad. They didn't play up the Nazi angle too much for obvious reasons. But I got to admit Bugsy the dirty pigeon got annoying at times. Overall, this "by-the-numbers" is a fun, funny little war comedy. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/18/22 Full Review Benjamin G This movie fits perfectly for its purpose. It is a brilliant children's movie for any kid who likes history or war. It is educational, entertaining, and overall a nice movie to watch.
