Patricia L This film is so underrated. It is a love story. Maybe it is because it talks of the reality of death and how to cope. I saw this film not long after my husband had passed after his cancer battle so I could relate. This film helped me with my grieving process. I bought my own DVD copy and I must have played it many times. I thought the cast was excellent. I also loved the music. The story is sad, funny, and hopeful. The critics were far too harsh on this film; I do not understand why. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/12/24 Full Review Yellowfur D Back to sci-fi. I cried from beginning to end. I think the screenwriter is too good, the foreshadowing of the first paragraph is short and concise (this scene is the best in the whole film), so I started to cry when I watched the second act. I cried so much and it's a book I still love. The film just wrecked the story. It's supposed to be set in Ireland, about Irish childhoods sweethearts, and there's not a bunch of obnoxiously Americans mispronouncing places. Gerard Butler's accent is horrendous, he should've just kept his Scottish accent. Holly never slept with someone else, they missed the entire point of the beautiful story. HATE it.
