Heather Hogan Autostraddle She's brought an ardent screenplay, a soaring score, and unapologetically gauzy sunlight to bear on the story of the man, his wife, and their lover who created the most iconic female superhero of all time. Jul 2, 2018 Full Review Mark Matousek Slant Magazine This is a film about eroticism and passion that is neither erotic nor passionate. Rated: 2/4 Dec 13, 2017 Full Review Wenlei Ma News.com.au At times the movie veers into sentimentality and the pacing slacks off in the final 30 minutes, but it never loses its magnetic focus on those three strong, central performances. Rated: 3/5 Nov 16, 2017 Full Review Brian T. Carney Washington Blade Robinson explores their love with great sensitivity and eroticism and without sensationalism and also celebrates the power of creativity and intellectual curiosity. Dec 14, 2022 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy The breezy first half gives way to a more cumbersome second part, but the film never loses altitude in either its open-minded approach or in its pointed criticism of conservative prudery and anti-intellectualism. Rated: 3/4 Sep 18, 2021 Full Review Jason Best What's On TV This decidedly odd and kinky tale is evidently a passion project for writer-director Angela Robinson (maker of cheeky teen spy spoof D.E.B.S.), and she brings a sly wit and touching sweetness to her telling of it. G.D. 0 Love this movie so much Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/21/24 Full Review Georgan G A film worthy of the topic of polyamory. The feelings, communication and honesty required in a mature emotional three-some are portrayed. Lovely drama. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/03/24 Full Review Alec B Given the subject matter this movie really needed a less conventional approach Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/05/24 Full Review PridePosterStudios A film with good polyamory representation?! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/26/24 Full Review Alejandro E The film, rather than referring to the superhero genre, is a glimpse of the efforts to impose revolutionary ideas in a prim and pious society, loaded with prejudices. Action-hungry moviegoers might be disappointed, but that doesn't stop them from finding the flavor. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/23/23 Full Review Johann D. M 🏳️‍🌈 This biographical drama about American psychologist William Moulton Marston and his polyamorous relationship with his wife Elizabeth Holloway Marston and their mistress Olive Byrne who would inspire his creation of the superheroine, Wonder Woman with their feminist leanings in the 1930s. A fascinating and provocative fact-based story about a topic as unconventional as polyamory with three solid lead performances that make the audience believe in the actual possibility of a committed polyamorous relationship. It also represents the BDSM community with more respect than previous films actually focused on those practices have tried to achieve. The typical biopic formula is perfectly balanced with the romance between these 3 characters, and it is also quite critical of conservative prudery. Overall, it depicts an interesting perspective of life that makes for a brilliant story about freedom, love and superheroines. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/14/23 Full Review Read all reviews
