Roger Moore Tribune News Service Overlong, overly broad and overly familiar. But not without its charms Rated: 2/4 Sep 11, 2013 Full Review Louis Black Austin Chronicle Charming and entertaining, if overlong and a bit too melodramatic, Instructions ultimately works because of the cast. Rated: 2.5/5 Sep 6, 2013 Full Review Michael O'Sullivan Washington Post The film's counterintuitive success is largely due to Derbez, who demonstrates why he is beloved, both south and north of the border. Rated: 2.5/4 Sep 5, 2013 Full Review Bernard Boo Way Too Indie Instructions Not Included's humor, while effective, feels confused as to who it's aimed at. The physical gags are unapologetically slapstick and cartoony. Rated: 7/10 Apr 15, 2019 Full Review Carlos Arias Chilango.com Derbez, even as a debutant filmmaker, shows his solid formation in movies and proves himself as an able narrator. Wanttobe G Great movie, sure there are a few things I don’t like but still and enjoyable movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/05/24 Full Review Moolw I As a family of three , me , a only daughter, my father and mother, we felt this touch our hearts very personally and this movie has never failed to make us remember to appreciate our family bond and for me to always appreciate my parents who always work hard for me. It is also another reminder of how my Mexican parents came to the U.S for a better life. Loved this movie with my heart as I have a personal connection to this and when I first watched it with my family it all made us cry which I find that really touching that a movie did that to us as usually it never does. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/14/24 Full Review Faustino E My experience watching this movie was the most moving and beutiful ever because It has a very important message, I absolutely recommend it because the best movie I huave never seen before. It is a drama-comedy movie primarily set in Acapulco, México, also it has some scenes in LA, California. It is about a man that had to learn how to take care of his daughter because the mother left her with him and he see all the things that be father means until the mom returns to their lives. It has two main characters Valentín (the father) and Maggie (the daughter) but my favorito one is Valentín because I like how he learned oh his problems and seeks to be the best father possible. 100 stars out of 100, could not recommend more Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/08/23 Full Review Lou T I have recently begun learning how to speak Spanish and felt like testing my skills on a film that is partially in Spanish. This was recommended and I jumped on the chance to give it a try. Going in knowing nothing about the film, I was not excited by the basic premise and goofy humor. This quickly proved to be more than that with heart and soul given by Eugenio Derbez (Valentin) and Loreto Perslta (Maggie) as our leads. The relationship between the two and the antics that ensue create such a strong familial bond and keep you deeply invested in the emotional beats throughout. With twists that had you on the edge of your seat and a resolution that ties the story up uniquely, this is a film you won't soon forget. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews
