Critics Consensus

Unnecessarily violent and unflinchingly absurd, Law Abiding Citizen is plagued by subpar acting and a story that defies reason.

Keith Uhlich Time Out It's basically Saw with Gerard Butler as Jigsaw, which means he's as righteous of body as he is of mind. Audience Member Good movie. Critics have no taste, and it is just another movie that proves they are wrong. Would be 5 stars, but ending is kinda mid. I would like ending to be longer, or something after it and not just one of main characters walking with flames behind him. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/23/24 Full Review Kathi S EXCELLENT MOVIE. HARD TO FIND GOOD MOVIES ON TV ANYMORE BUT THIS WAS ONE. HIGHLY RECOMMED YOU WATCH IT. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/06/24 Full Review Liminal J Phenomenal movie, far surpassed my expectations. It uses the format of an action/thriller to ask some tough questions of us as a society, with lots of twists and turns along the way. Keeps you on the edge of your seat. A little gruesome at times but a must watch for any fan of the action or thriller genres. Both Gerard Butler and Jamie Foxx knocked it out of the park. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/19/24 Full Review Dan R In my personal opinion, this is one of Gerald Butler's best performance, the switch in character is unreal, the mood change from Butler's character was almost like I was watching too different actors. Unbelievable. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/08/24 Full Review Audie M this movie is awesome. critics are wrong! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/25/24 Full Review Nathan T Great movie seen many times I really enjoyed it definitely worth watching would definitely recommend ignore the critics and rt score and make up your own mind Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/16/24 Full Review Read all reviews
