Jigsaw

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Jigsaw definitely won't win many converts to the Saw franchise, but for longtime fans, it should prove a respectably revolting -- if rarely scary -- diversion.

Tara Brady Irish Times The resulting Grand Guignol will please fans, although the gore is never as groundbreaking as the drowning in pig entrails and reserve bear traps of old. Rated: 3/5 Nov 4, 2017 Full Review Marc Savlov Austin Chronicle A marginally better entry into the franchise. Rated: 2/5 Nov 2, 2017 Full Review Matthew Rozsa Salon.com Which brings us to "Jigsaw," which fails for very much the same reasons as "The Mummy" - It was made to launch a franchise rather than because it was actually about something. Rated: 2/4 Oct 29, 2017 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review Gorehounds will get their fill, and that's about the limit of Jigsaw's appeal. Rated: 1/4 Mar 14, 2022 Full Review David Gonzalez The Cinematic Reel Jigsaw will in no way, shape or form be a game changer for the horror genre. Rated: 2.5/4 Feb 18, 2022 Full Review John Manuel Arias Mediaversity Reviews "The horror genre typically sees women as passive and helpless, the perfect victims. But when the roles are reversed, a female killer reclaims some power." Rated: C- Oct 21, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews

Mark B Plot is a mess, and does not earn the “twist”. Not very good in my opinion. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/29/24 Full Review Jelisije J A decent sequel of Jigsaw early kills that show Jigsaw early sense of justice to people he once knew in his life. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/25/24 Full Review Sean M Boring. Same BS as the other movies. Victims are given a “chance” to redeem themselves but it’s always a lie. Even when they follow the rules of the game they’re still executed. No mercy and complete betrayal every step of the way. Regardless of what the requirements are or what is demanded they are always killed. This game is getting old. It’s so predictable and stupid at this point. The first couple of “Saw” movies were great but now it’s just a money making operation with no substance. I’ll probably never watch another “Saw” or “Jigsaw” movie because it’s always the same old BS, and it’s boring. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/15/24 Full Review Dionisis T An "alternative" version of the saw movies which after all is not that different... Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/07/24 Full Review Michael P Maybe I read too much into movies but, nobody's likeable and the movie is run way too long. When horror movies make characters dumb, it's really annoying, and makes movies hard to watch. This was alright, but it could've been better. P.s the ending is erm... vanglorious to say the least. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/06/24 Full Review Kali P its sad to see my childhood best scary movie legacy decades after looking like a low budget movie, awful actors.
