When flight attendant Jackie Brown (Pam Grier) is busted smuggling money for her arms dealer boss, Ordell Robbie (Samuel L. Jackson), agent Ray Nicolette (Michael Keaton) and detective Mark Dargus (Michael Bowen) want her help to bring down Robbie. Facing jail time for her silence or death for her cooperation, Brown decides instead to double-cross both parties and make off with the smuggled money. Meanwhile, she enlists the help of bondsman Max Cherry (Robert Forster), a man who loves her.

O filme é longo, ultrapassa 2h30m de duração, mas isso não significa que é um filme chato, o filme possui um ritmo muito bom e sempre tem algo acontecendo que vai te prender muito durante a trama, muito bem encenado e atuado, Pam Grier se destaca fortemente com sua atuação, só acho que o personagem de Robert D. Niro poderia ser mais aproveitado, ele é um pouco deixado de lado aqui. Não acho que seja o melhor trabalho de Tarantino nos cinemas, mas Jackie Brown é filme sólido e bem dirigido.

Um filme muito bom do ponto de vista de roteiro, só não dou 5 estrelas por conta do papel apagado de De Niro, achei um tanto quanto redundante, por que ele estava lá? Enfim, mesmo assim o longa consegue te prender e, belíssima atuação de Pam Grier, brilhante no papel de Jackie. Vale a pena conferir.

Finally watched this movie after 28 years of putting it off because I just didn't think I'd like it. Well, I didn't really like it. It's okay. Solid acting and a solid bit of directing by Tarantino. However, the story was dull.

Tarantino's most entertaining movie. A textbook example of how to adapt a great novel into a great film. The chemistry between Jackie Brown and the bail bondsman is fantastic. If this movie is on television, I stop everything I'm doing and watch it.

This is a great movie with a strong female lead who uses her intellect to come out on top of a bad situation she gets herself into. This is Terrantino at some of his best. A definite much watch if you want to see how to write a good female lead character.
