The presentation of the family drama and life in Japan after WW2 are as good as the depiction of the monster. However, the melodrama went a bit overboard and the usual lagging we see in Japanese films are still here. Good, but not as good as Shin Godzilla

its real simple, cant believe im saying this on a Godzilla flick this flick is in my top ten of the 21st century, top 5 for the 2020's this is a story of tragedy, survivors guilt, and ptsd, Godzilla is used perfectly in this flick as a monster of pure terror, go watch this with japanese audio and your native tongue subtitles what a great movie!! a special nod to 1917, Jaws, Jurrassic Park, platoon and Watchmen this is a true masterpiece

This was an absolutely amazing movie! You are invested in the characters, and it manages to tell the story effortlessly, while there is also a Godzilla running around. All of the characters are so well written, and the payoff is, predictable, but still executed flawlessly.

I’ve seen this film 5 times now. Like getting off a great roller coaster-with Godzilla Minus One, I’m always ready to go again! This film has taken over as the GOAT Godzilla films in my heart. Though I’m a Godzilla fanatic, I can safely say that one need not be a Godzilla fan to appreciate and enjoy this film. The human story is pure gold, and Godzilla is terrifying in this one! Must see !
