Critics Consensus

Look on Gods of Egypt, ye filmgoers, and despair! Nothing beside remains. Round the decay of this colossal wreck, boundless and bare. The lone and level sands stretch far away. (Apologies to Shelley.)

Sara Michelle Fetters MovieFreak.com While not an outright disaster, this is still as massively perplexing a misfire as any likely to see a release this year. Bryan L So I'm only about halfway through and am struggling to finish this movie. The cuts between scenes are incredibly abrupt to the point where it seems there was more to the scene and they cut it - music stops mid sheet to switch over to the new music for the new scene and everything. The character development also was bland, with nobody's motive really pulling you into the story. Then they also try this gods are large humans are small effect with minimal success. While the scenes involving just one type isn't usually to bad the moment they place them together their is a a very obvious CGI enhancement of the scene. Overall just too much in the film disrupted the actual story and take you out of the experience. I feel this can be shown by me writing a review for it before it's even over, something I never thought I'd do. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/16/24 Full Review Susanda W Great family adventure with gold for blood. Really doesn't deserve the bad comments. It us was it is supposed to be, tongue in cheek action, magic and mayhem. And no it isn't "accurate to Egyptian mythology" or "true to life". Weirdos in the reviews claiming this make me laugh.
