Matthew Rozsa Salon.com It is one of the best movies to ever come out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, balancing engaging action set pieces and witty dialogue with intelligent character studies and ethical debates. Rated: 3.5/4 Aug 3, 2017 Full Review Aramide Tinubu Shadow and Act Captain America: Civil War proves that Marvel knows how to lay down a stunning foundation in order to detail an epic saga. Apr 12, 2017 Full Review Sara Michelle Fetters MovieFreak.com Captain America: Civil War is fun; it's too well made, acted and scripted for it to be anything less. Rated: 2.5/4 Aug 11, 2016 Full Review Cory Woodroof For the Win (USA Today) The airport battle is still one of the best scenes in all of these movies, and the introduction to Holland’s Spider-Man is still such a joy and the best use of his iteration of the character in this series. Feb 27, 2024 Full Review Denise Pieniazek A Sala Llena (Argentina) The battles have few moments of lucidity compared to other Marvel films, since it seems that there lies the conflict of this new comics universe: achieving the balance between fights and words. Maybe they should take more time to develop the scripts... Rated: 4/10 Jan 14, 2024 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies By the end things are much different. Characters have been impacted. Relationships have been affected. Most importantly it sets before us a very interesting landscape and the potential for some incredibly intriguing storylines. Anthony L A perfect introduction to the 3rd phase of the MCU. The story, dialogue, and action blend in a perfect stew of good times. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/01/21 Full Review Jeffrix good movie to follow the story arc. a few issues with the fight scene with all the heroes. vision disappeared through most of it conveniently. and I hate watching iron man and cap fighting. But it's got to follow the arc I guess. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/10/21 Full Review Casey G Almost incoherent mess of fightin' words and fightin' actions. I have rarely ever liked a superhero movie less. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/01/24 Full Review Test T I watched this on DVD recently. This movie certainly starts with plenty of action, but seeing it for the first time it looks very forced and artificial. The camera is never still, and scenes flash by in a second as each is cut to the next. The fights are like dance moves, precisely choreographed to fit inside each micro scene. It's frantic stuff, and left me with the makings of a headache contemplating just how far film making has progressed. The problem is my mind can't keep up with the pace and, story wise, I got left behind. Enevitably, this pace can only be sustained for a few minutes and after that proceedings grind to a crawl. I'm now bored, having been spoilt by so much action, I'm disinterested by the detail because it feels so very dull by comparison. as I long for the film to explode into life again. My point is that this boom and gloom approach does not work. What's completely missing here is the art of telling a good story and being able to capture the viewers attention while you do it. Without this, the film feels hollow and unsatisfying. As a technical exercise, the action scenes are spectacular, but I can't recommend this film because that's all it really has to offer. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/28/24 Full Review Alfonso R One of the most greatest Superhero movies ever made. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/25/24 Full Review D. M The best film of the MCU pits beloved characters against each other. Huge changes from the comic storyline but it works in this universe.
