Terry H Was better than the ratings in my opinion. It sets up the plot early on then after some brief action it becomes a character driven story for the most part. Loved the character development focus of the writing and the acting from leads Adrien Brody, John Malkovich and Rory Culkin. Transitions back into the action for the final act but I wasn't as big a fan of the way that turned out. All in all though, its worth the watch. Negative reviews and disappointment stem from a misunderstanding of the film's intention, as it is not a high-action crime film. Despite this, Bullet Head is well-executed and effectively conveys the director's vision through strong writing and acting. The focus is on character study and a story centered around a frightening dog. Other than that, the movie was kind of predictable. I was uncomfortable watching multiple parts of this movie due to its dealing with animal abuse. I got emotional while watching and it affected my mood after I finished watching. So, be prepared and be aware of that. Overall, the movie itself is kind of depressing and sad.
