Critics Consensus

A talented cast is wasted on a bland attempt at a suspenseful, serial killer flick.

Chris Bennion Times (UK) There are shades of David Fincher’s Se7en to the game-playing, clue-leaving psycho plot, while Washington’s immobile sleuth will remind you of Hitchcock’s Rear Window. Rated: 1.5/4 Oct 26, 2023 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies It’s never boring and I always enjoy watching great performers do their thing. But the film is lined with too much silliness, too many contrivances, and a lack of originality... Gary L Wildly Underrated. Top-notch work from the cast all the way down the line. Washington and Jolie could have carried it all by themselves, but they didn't have to. Atmospheric, brutal, tough and tight. A thriller, not at all an Agatha Christie, and there were places thr plot could have been more taut. But a really fine piece of work. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/08/24 Full Review Igor S I never read the book so i can't compare it with the film. This wasn't a very good movie, plot wise. It almost seems like alot of things were cut in the editing room. But a solid performance from Denzel Washington, and him being the brain and Anjelina Jolie being "the body" keeps you decently hooked. It's definitely not the worse crime movie but you have to turn off your mind s little bit. I miss crime movies like this getting made. So at least i got to jump back into this era. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 04/28/24 Full Review Eduarda O Chato pra caralho ser a pessoa do "li o livro e achei bem melhor" mas li o livro e achei bem melhor. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/13/24 Full Review Alex G This hails from a time when studios could assemble a reasonable cast, fart out a story with the depth of a boiled egg, film the thing with little in the way of effects or CGI and still, still, make an enjoyable film. It's just a basic, suspend belief bit of escapism you'll probably struggle to remember the next day. But it's not pretending to be anything else and for that, I think it's a great film to pop on. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/24 Full Review Mauricio E Premisa interesante y divertida, pero horriblemente ejecutada. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/05/24 Full Review ChatGPT u Denzel doesn't have to move anywhere to solve a case, which is a refreshing setting. Also, the deaths are very specially organized. The villain reveal is weak though. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews
