Jim Schembri 3AW Director Richard Gray (Summer Coda) has his hands full trying to do justice to the story's moral minefield while putting in enough slo-mo footy action...Regrettably, this results in a well-meaning muddle of a film. Rated: 2/5 Mar 17, 2013 Full Review Simon Weaving Screenwize This story of AFL, mateship and sex scandal is let down by a clunky screenplay and some misguided morality despite the presence of Jack Thompson and an enthusiastic cast of talented young Australian actors. Rated: 2/5 Mar 11, 2013 Full Review David 'Mad Dog' Bradley Rip It Up What's meant to be ploddingly glum drama ostensibly about Aussie Rules footy proves to be a humourless study of forgiveness, redemption and so forth, with plenty of agonising along the way. Rated: 2.5/5 Mar 7, 2013 Full Review Luke Buckmaster The Daily Review/Crikey Did the cast and crew honestly think viewers would want to chant "win, rapist, win!"? Mar 3, 2013 Full Review Don Groves sbs.com.au Australian footy-themed melodrama fumbles, kicks few goals. Rated: 2/5 Feb 20, 2013 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Been a footy story thought it would've been good but very late down Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie is fucking travesty. It should be a filthy blemish on anyone involved in signing off the script and those in production who watched the flashbacks and forwards between 2002 and 2013 and thought it was believable. But my biggest beef is with the amateurish way Australian Rules Football is treated. If your going to feature the revered Australian sport - do your homework assholes: Jack Nicholson's couch character uses satisfactory idioms and then in the next sentence uses generic sports terms that sound fucking ridiculous. And the premise that Angus Sampson's overweight character could be playing alongside legitimate AFL prospects is out and out bullshit. Hang your heads in shame Blinder. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Blinder is a good Australian film not the best but still solid with some good moments Jack Thompson is great as the coach Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member I thought this was a really good rent. Not a blockbuster, but very entertaining. The story is about overcoming bad decisions from your past and working on creating a better future. The cast is not made up of any big names but there a recognizable faces and an excellent sound tract Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member In the same ballpark as the 1980 Australian classic 'The Club', 'BLINDER' is a slick production aesthetically. The film features a solid cast of emerging and established Australian talent, who play out the controversial script with integrity and substance. A film which was underrated at the box office yet will surely see success and longevity in the home entertainment market. One for the whole family. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member I have seen Blinder twice, once with my wife and then with the kids, its a great story about a real side of sport/life that most of the time we don't want to think about. I reckon it is a must for all clubs. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Read all reviews
