4/4
Frankenstein (1931) Scott Nash If it was simply about a rampaging monster going around killing people, it wouldn't be remembered so well today. Instead, it takes a higher route and actually poses questions about what it means to be a monster.

3.5/4
King Kong (1933) Scott Nash Sure, the effects are incredibly dated, but the charm of this movie never will be.

4/4
The Shop Around the Corner (1940) Scott Nash While Stewart and Sullivan spar nicely, plenty of laughs are provided by the supporting cast.

2.5/4
Superman and the Mole Men (1951) Scott Nash It contains some interesting ideas, but is really only going to appeal to massive fans of Superman or those seeking a sense of nostalgia.

3/4
Modern Times (1936) Scott Nash Without question there are moments of pure genius contained in this movie, but as a cohesive 80 minute story, it's lacking a bit.

4/4
The Wizard of Oz (1939) Scott Nash As a children's movie, this is the definitive classic and does possess a magic all its own.

3/4
The Champ (1931) Scott Nash Despite the blatant manipulation, this movie is enjoyable, just be sure to wear your rubber boots when watching, because you'll be knee deep in sap by the time you're done with it.

4/4
The Lady Eve (1941) Scott Nash Stanwyck is terrific as Jean.

3/4
The Cheat (1915) Scott Nash Compared to many other films of the period, this one comes across as rather modern, at least in some respects.

4/4
The General (1926) Patrick Nash The General ranks as not only a brilliant movie but as one of the premiere art works of the Twentieth Century.

2.5/4
Hello, Dolly! (1969) Scott Nash This is a flawed movie, there's no question of that, but at the same time there are some enjoyable moments.

1/4
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1978) Scott Nash A laughably bad movie.
Posted Feb 26, 2019
2.5/4
Dr. Who and the Daleks (1965) Scott Nash Although it was made to attract a new audience, this is a movie that's really only ever going to be of interest to fans of the original Doctor Who series. Its entertainment value to those unfamiliar with the show is bound to be limited at best.

3.5/4
Kate & Leopold (2001) Scott Nash Nearly the only big-name romantic comedy to come out this year, Kate & Leopold is the perfect date movie this Christmas and the perfect way to escape from the stress of everyday life.

3/4
Someone Like You (2001) Scott Nash So while the plot is weak, and the pop psychiatry it spews is nonsense, thanks to a strong cast, this movie manages to remain enjoyable.
Posted Oct 31, 2018
4/4
The Others (2001) Scott Nash Both a drama and an old fashioned ghost story, The Others finally manages to do what no other movie has done in 2001, make me want to see it again.

4/4
A Star Is Born (1937) Scott Nash Although Gaynor's performance isn't as dramatically strong as Garland's, they are both classic versions of the same story. They each have plenty to recommend about them and it's hard to say which is the better version.

2.5/4
Wholly Moses! (1980) Scott Nash Life of Brian was protested by religious groups as heresy. Wholly Moses is silly and lowbrow enough that it never generated equal controversy. It's in every way inferior to that other film, but silly enough to provide a few cheap laughs.

4/4
Murder on the Orient Express (1974) Scott Nash As with all Agatha Christie stories, the solution to the mystery is rather ingenious. You may or may not see that solution ahead of time, but it hardly matters. The real joy in her work are the questions rather than the answer.

2.5/4
Von Ryan's Express (1965) Scott Nash The cinematography and the scenery both add greatly to the movie. It makes it seem so much more realistic.

2.5/4
Where Eagles Dare (1969) Scott Nash That I was able to enjoy this movie as much as I did, despite the plethora of plot holes, says something for it.
Posted Jul 08, 2017
3.5/4
The Longest Day (1962) Scott Nash Technically, this is a great, great movie.
Posted Jul 07, 2017
3.5/4
Gallipoli (1981) Scott Nash Although we've seen this story before, it is told exceptionally well here.
Posted Jul 07, 2017
4/4
The Freshman (1925) Scott Nash The plot is a cliche now, but at the time must have felt fresh. And even though modern viewers have seen its like perhaps dozens of times, it somehow does little to diminish The Freshman's charm.

Suicide Squad (2016) Scott Nash Has its flaws, but still manages to entertain.
Posted Aug 07, 2016
3.5/4
Boyz N the Hood (1991) Scott Nash This is an impressive debut for Singleton.
Posted Aug 01, 2016
2.5/4
Total Recall (1990) Scott Nash If you don't ask too many questions, or just accept that it's all a dream so logic and science don't matter, then this is an enjoyable romp.
Posted Jul 27, 2016
3/4
Star Trek Beyond (2016) Scott Nash 50 years after its creation, Star Trek is alive and well.
Posted Jul 24, 2016
3/4
The BFG (2016) Scott Nash Has a charmingly old fashioned feel.
Posted Jul 10, 2016

Independence Day: Resurgence (2016) Scott Nash They had 20 years to prepare and this is the best they could do?
Posted Jul 02, 2016
2.5/4
The Legend of Tarzan (2016) Scott Nash Skarsgård looks the part, but the film offers little new to justify the reboot.
Posted Jul 01, 2016
3.5/4
The Shallows (2016) Scott Nash Sometimes less really is more.
Posted Jun 28, 2016
3/4
Independence Day (1996) Scott Nash A throwback to the disaster films of the 1970s, but on a global scale.
Posted Jun 26, 2016

Keanu (2016) Scott Nash Silly and fun.
Posted May 01, 2016
3/4
The Out-of-Towners (1970) Scott Nash Jack Lemmon, Sandy Dennis, and a gritty New York City make this worth watching.
Posted Apr 10, 2016
2.5/4
2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) Scott Nash A visual masterpiece, weakened by a glacial pace and an ambiguous ending.
Posted Mar 31, 2016
2.5/4
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) Scott Nash There's a good movie inside this one somewhere, but it would take a talented and ruthless editor to find it.

The Divergent Series: Allegiant (2016) Scott Nash Isn't this series over with yet?
Posted Mar 21, 2016
2.5/4
Dad's Army (1971) Scott Nash Suffers the same problems that most sitcom to movie adaptations suffer from, but fans of the series should find lots to love.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (2016) Scott Nash Not completely horrible, but fails to live up to the silliness its title promises.
Posted Feb 14, 2016

Deadpool (2016) Scott Nash Entertaining, but a little schizophrenic.
Posted Feb 13, 2016
3.5/4
The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared (2013) Scott Nash Surreal and very silly.
