If I donate to Represent Justice, what will my money be used for?
Donations to Represent Justice will be used to support our mission to turn stories into action to accelerate social change around the justice system, which includes but isn’t limited to: our Ambassador program, speaking engagements, screenings, art activations to bring people proximate to issues about the justice system, policy research, and advocacy campaigns.
Represent Justice achieved the Platinum GuideStar Seal of Transparency in 2021 and is committed to nonprofit transparency and accountability.

Is my donation tax deductible?
Donations to Represent Justice are tax deductible to the extent allowable by law.
Will I get a receipt?
All online donations are acknowledged immediately with an email receipt for tax purposes. Be sure to keep a copy of this email for your records. If you do not receive this email please check your Spam folder or contact us.
If you donated by check to Represent Justice, you will receive a paper acknowledgement of your gift through the mail after your donation has been processed.
Is my donation secure?
Yes! The confidentiality and security of your personal information is of paramount importance to us, and we do not share it with any other parties.
Our donation process complies with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). The process is fully encrypted using industry best practices to ensure your personal and credit card information is kept private and secure. We perform frequent scans on our donation systems to ensure that your information is protected against threats.

Can Represent Justice help me or a loved one of mine with their specific case?
Our organization is focused on uplifting stories, but we partner with some great organizations that focus on fair trials and wrongful convictions. Please check out the resources for system-impacted individuals on our resources page.
Are your programs coming to more prisons?
We are hopeful that as it becomes safer to gather in person, we will be able to bring our programs to more facilities across the country.
COVID-19
Why do you fight for the early release of people currently incarcerated?
Close quarters, unsanitary conditions and a high population of people vulnerable to COVID-19 means that an outbreak at a facility will only exacerbate our public health crisis. If we don’t take action now, the safety of those incarcerated and the larger public will be at risk.
95% of those residing in prison facilities will eventually be released and we are particularly asking for those to be released who are elderly, served the majority of their sentences, incarcerated due to high bail being set (etc) and no longer a threat to society to relieve overcrowding.
What about providing additional support once folks are released?
Releasing incarcerated people is necessary to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. But, we recognize that it won’t work if we don’t support the organizations that provide people with housing, food, masks and other necessities to keep them safe. We partner with various organizations across the country who provide emergency support and reentry services to members of their community.
What vaccine information are you sending to incarcerated people?
Represent Justice worked in conjunction with our Ambassadors, Ameelio, and Amend to create an educational resource that can be sent inside to prisons and jails. Learn more about the postcard and process here.
