Corporate Partnerships Consultant

Introduction

Represent Justice is seeking competitive proposals from qualified individuals or companies to support the organization’s Corporate Partnerships strategy and implementation. We are seeking a Consultant with proven capabilities managing corporate partnerships for social justice and/or arts nonprofit organizations.

From securing corporate foundation grant invitations, to identifying and leveraging commercial sponsorship for film content and events, you’ll be part of supporting and elevating the stories and voices of formerly incarcerated leaders.

Organizational Background

Represent Justice is a California-based nonprofit that builds narrative power for formerly incarcerated communities. We equip directly impacted leaders with the storytelling skills, advocacy training and resources so they can effectively use film to mobilize audiences for criminal justice reform and transformation.

Our flagship Ambassador Program is a 12-month fellowship that invests deeply in building the personal storytelling skills and advocacy of formerly incarcerated leaders. Ambassadors participate in a progressive training series that covers a range of storytelling topics and skill areas, culminating in the production, message testing and distribution of a capstone short film project, which they utilize as a tool for grassroots and national advocacy campaigns.

Additionally, we develop and oversee national impact campaigns around wide releases of films and series helmed by system-impacted filmmakers. Our current campaign is for the BET film Kemba, based on the life story of Kemba Smith Pradia. In partnership with Kemba, our campaign sheds light on the justice system’s impact on young women of color while highlighting the harms caused by harsh drug law enforcement and mandatory minimum sentencing. Through hundreds of screenings, speaking appearances, and digital action tools, we’re mobilizing audiences to support the release of the countless women still serving time behind bars under extreme sentences, the majority of them mothers.

We have built a strong portfolio of institutional funders and are now seeking to grow our corporate partnerships in a values-aligned way that generates revenue and raises additional visibility for the organization.

Responsibilities & Deliverables

The consultant will develop and implement a corporate engagement strategy to support revenue and relationship-building goals for the organization. This includes securing corporate foundation grants, sponsorships, matching funds, and in-kind gifts.

Deliverables include:

  • Corporate strategy plan, to include ongoing stewardship strategies for maximum impact and longevity.
  • Build a portfolio of at least 25 corporate prospects with potential Represent Justice issue and values alignment.
  • Actively solicit prospects with the intention of securing at least $150k through a combination of at least one (1) foundation grant, one (1) meaningful sponsorship, and one (1) matching fund or in-kind gift.
  • With content support from Development Manager, create needed pitching materials for solicitations, including decks and written documents.
  • Deliver progress reports on a weekly basis, and meet with the Chief Operating Officer on a bi-weekly basis to discuss progress and ongoing needs.
