A man in his 30s was shot to death Tuesday afternoon in northwest Rochester, according to police.

Emergency responders were called to a home on Lorenzo Street, near Hague Street, around 1:45 p.m. to investigate a reported shooting, said Rochester Police Capt. Greg Bello. Arriving officers found a man on the front porch of the house who had been shot at least once in the upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bello said that a preliminary investigation indicated that some sort of altercation occurred inside the house and spilled onto the porch, where a someone shot the man.

RPD's Major Crimes Unit is investigating this killing, which marked Rochester's 25th homicide of 2024. Anyone with information about the slaying is asked to call 911.
