Was called home on July 8th, 2024 at the age of 81. He is survived by his sons, David Roy (Lisa) Echevarria, David Frank (Alison) Echevarria, Justin (Andressa) Glasgow, his daughter Cori-Leigh (Harry) Post, and his three grandsons David III (Ashley) Echevarria, Steven Echevarria and Cameron Echevarria. David was predeceased by his wife Susan.

David was born in Manhattan in 1943 to parents Ernest and Esther, where he grew up with his brother Sonny and two sisters Gloria and Enid (all previously deceased). He enlisted into the United States Army in 1966 where he served as a field radio operator with the 1st Infantry Division and was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star as well as the National Defense Service Medal, a Vietnam Service Medal with Three Bronze Stars, a Combat Infantry Men Badge 1st Award, a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon with Device and a Marksman Badge with Rifle Bar.

After the war David moved to Middletown, NY where he worked for Reynolds Aluminum for thirty years as a machinist. Upon retiring, David kept very busy with projects around the house. He was quite a talented carpenter and millworker, constantly imagining new projects to complete. He enjoyed spending time with his family and as a dedicated grandfather was enormously proud of the accomplishments of his three grandsons. He also loved being outside, playing cards, and riding motorcycles.

In 2015, he finally realized his dream of moving to Florida with his love, Susan. Upon Susan’s untimely death he moved to Goshen, NY where David and Susan will now spend their eternal lives.
