Genevieve "Jeanne" Oldfield passed away peacefully on July 1, 2024 at Garnet Medical Center. She was surrounded by family listening to Jimmy Sturr and his Orchestra while holding her mother's rosary. In the end her faith bought her peace.

The daughter of Mary Kukelka Jashembowski and Peter Jashembowski. She was born on March 31, 1943 in Middletown, NY. She lived most of her adult life a few houses away from her parents’ home. She was a baker and cook making sure to hand down all of her Polish traditions.

She raised three children with her former husband Lawrence "Butch" Oldfield. She is survived by two sons and one daughter. John and his wife Alycia of Boca Raton, Florida, Daniel and his wife Andrea of Harris, NY, and Leslie Oldfield of Middletown, NY. She leaves behind her sister Helen Hevener of Middletown, NY and many nieces and nephews. She was Godmother to Mark Dombal, Frank Jashembowski, Sherri Neiger and Christopher Bailey. She was loved by her grandchildren, Kate (Joshua) Ingber, Jenna (Nicholas) Taurisani, Justin Oldfield, Nico Oldfield and Daniel "DJ" Oldfield. She was blessed with two great-grandchildren Emilia Rose Ingber and Luke Thomas Ingber. She was a friend to many, especially Ro McNamee, Alice Deserto, Sharon Kirchner and Ginger Monahan (deceased). She leaves behind so many that loved her, and, in those memories, we find comfort. She was predeceased by her brother John and son Petey who she met with joy at the gates of heaven.

The visitation will be on Monday, July 8 from 5-8pm at Applebee McPhillips Funeral Home 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY. A Mass will be held at 11am on Tuesday, July 9 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church 90 Euclid Avenue Middletown, NY. Burial to follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery Pine Island, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, which was Jeanne's charity of choice.
