Battlefords RCMP: youth charged after robbery and serious assault

On July 7, 2024 at approximately 6 p.m., Battlefords RCMP received a report of a serious assault and attempted robbery at a residence in North Battleford.

Investigation determined a female approached an adult male on the 1200 block of 102 Street and demanded money. The adult male was then assaulted. The female fled.

The victim was taken to hospital with injuries described as serious in nature.

Officers immediately began patrolling the area for the female, with the assistance of Saskatchewan RCMP Police Dog Services.

The female was located in a residence on 106 Street and was arrested at approximately 8 p.m.

As a result of continued investigation, a 17-year-old female from North Battleford, who can't be identified as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with:

  • one count, aggravated assault, Section 268(2), Criminal Code;
  • one count, assault, Section 266, Criminal Code;
  • one count, robbery with weapon, Section 344, Criminal Code;
  • one count, break and enter with intent, Section 348(1)(a), Criminal Code;
  • one count, break, enter and commit, Section 348(1)(b), Criminal Code; and
  • two counts, fail to comply with probation order, Section 733.1(1), Criminal Code.

She is scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on July 8, 2024.
