Hello! I'm Ivy, I’m so glad you’re here seeking counseling and what a huge step! For me, being an eating disorder therapist and a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) has become my passion and purpose. I’ve walked alongside individuals struggling with eating disorders and body image issues for years and have also walked my own journey through the challenges recovery. I understand that sometimes eating disorder and body image recovery is messy, terrifying but it is also freeing and completely worth every hard day. As your therapist, I am here to empower you through this journey and guide you through the ups and downs of recovery.

How many of us find ourselves "just making it," going day in and out doing the same routine, feeling like we are sitting in the backseat to our life watching it pass by, out of touch and out of control. Molding our life into what we want starts with acknowledging that something’s not working and that we cannot do this alone. Whether you are struggling with self esteem, stress, a troublesome relationship, life management, or feel that you just want something to be different, we will work together to to get you unstuck and feeling success. Life is hard, therapy doesn't have to be.

Many people start thinking about therapy because, emotionally, they don’t feel good. Maybe your emotions end up taking you for a ride and you feel helpless to stop it. Emotions come and go, but they can sometimes feel endless, especially if they are intense. Or maybe you are struggling to get in touch with your emotions and you find it difficult to connect. Either way, what ends up making it worse is the power struggle we get into with our own emotions. We want to push away the ones that feel bad and force the ones that feel good, but that never works for long. Wouldn’t it be easier to avoid the power struggle completely?

I have experience working with children as young as six and all ages of adults. I can work with people who are experiencing relationship and financial issues as well as struggles with addiction and mental health. I like to think of myself as a positive therapist. I also like to work with people behaviorally, and do not necessarily believe that people need to be in therapy for long periods of time. I have a small practice because I believe in focusing on my clients and giving them the time they need as well as being available to them if they encounter a problem or crisis in between sessions , I am currently studying DBT methods .

When human beings experience trauma or severe stressors, it is not uncommon for their lives to unravel. My great passion is bringing healing to people who have been through traumatic experiences like grief, depression or self harm when they are feeling like they are not enough, or anxiety in social or life adjustments. I wish to help children of ages 7+, teens 12-18, and adults/adolescents 18-30 to find perceptions about themselves and strengthen their relationships so they can know themselves and feel whole and safe.

Sexually compulsive and addictive behaviors have been a common presenting problem. It can emerge in the form of pornography addiction, infidelity, hook up apps, and illegal behaviors.Clients seek me out, when there has been problematic sexual behavior either with an individual or in a relationship. Most behaviors of a sexual nature have caused damage to the individual, couple and families. Many people suffer from past trauma and the development of healthy sexual behaviors have been interrupted by abuse, both physical , sexual and emotional. Behaviors can become compulsive and eventually secretive and shameful for the person.

My clients come to me because they struggle with understanding their relationships with themselves or with others. That, or they want to keep their current relationships positive and healthy. They want to strengthen those healthy connections with others. In a world that doesn't always understand how my clients live, love, or relate to others it is difficult to work through the challenges of just being human. I am both an advocate and a therapist. We will work together on your goals needs and concerns.

Are you trying your hardest to pull your life together, but the more you try, the more you feel lost, hopeless, and overwhelmed? It can seem like this merry-go-round of misery and frustration is never-ending, but a life of fulfillment and balance IS possible. You may not believe that right now, but I've seen it first-hand. And if you find a therapist you truly connect with and trust, you can actually begin to break apart what's been dragging you down so you can focus on what's most important to you in your life. Using CBT, EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, & hypnotherapy, I can help you clear the way so the REAL you can shine through.
