My theoretical background has been influenced by techniques from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Bowen Family Systems Theory, and the French Psychoanalytic tradition.
My hope is to create a relationship between the therapist and the individual that fosters positive and lasting change. To that end, I work patiently to ensure a sense of trust and safety. In addition, I feel I work well with individuals who go to therapy to be challenged, to be "unstuck." In these cases, I can be supportive while also being firm and direct. My approach is sensitive to the individual's life circumstance, their personality, and their comfort level with the therapeutic process.

My approaches are focused on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.
I view counseling as a vital practice that involves connection, commitment, and hope for change. I’m able to recognize the courage it takes for anyone to ask for help, and I want to recognize the strength it takes to chose to ask for what you need. I focus on approaching each therapeutic relationship with understanding to begin building trust and open communication. My desire is to be able to provide a safe place for anyone to feel heard and work together to allow for growth.

I utilize a variety of modalities and therapeutic approaches to meet my clients’ needs (CBT, DBT, Motivational interviewing, and Interpersonal Psychotherapy).
I strive to maintain a warm and safe environment for my clients, helping them feel connected and validated. Starting therapy can seem overwhelming, but I am here to support you throughout this process. We will work to determine what your goals are and how you can get there. I work well with people wanting to heal their past traumas that continue to impact their daily life. I also utilize my own Christian faith to counsel clients that are interested in exploring their own relationship with God and processing religious trauma in a safe and nonjudgmental way.

I use a mix of Internal Family Systems, EMDR, Mindfulness, Play Therapy, ERP, ACT, Ecotherapy, Yoga, Somatic Processing and DBT to help them find peace with the hard stuff.
Sometimes life just gets messy. I enjoy supporting both minors and adults in finding self compassion and growth while experiencing the uncomfortable. In sessions together, we can learn to do this by navigating trauma responses, depression, anxiety, life transitions, suicidal thoughts, relationships, body-image challanges, disordered eating, behavioral issues, and stress. Through both doing my own work and spending time with clients, I wholeheartedly feel we can find so much healing by getting curious about our emotions and greeting whatever arises with kindness, respect, and a bit of humor

I have more than 5 years of experience, and I utilize therapeutic modalities of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
Do you feel detached from your goals or feel like you’ve lost sight of what’s important in your life? Do you feel like you’re struggling to love yourself or separate yourself from narratives of what your life should look like? Maybe it’s time to take a step towards finding your most authentic self? Looks like you’ve come to the right place. Taking this first step can be scary, but I believe taking the leap can help you grow in ways never before realized.

I offer an integrative approach including CBT, DBT, ACT, REBT, ERP, and IFS.
I practice counseling with the perspective that humans develop behaviors to serve some sort of purpose. As a counselor, I am here to offer guidance and support for when those behaviors are no longer necessary or are no longer serving the purpose that was intended. I strive to assist clients in developing a balance in how they both experience and express emotions, with the belief that there is no "bad" emotion. My goal is to work with clients in discovering a state of awareness of the uncertainty in life rather than a fear of it.

I weave together DBT skills to help ground you, IFS and parts work to explore your inner world, and somatic healing to release any energies held within the body.
Over the past 3 years, I have dedicated myself to those dealing with eating disorders, depression, anxiety, and trauma. With almost 2 decades of personal recovery, I understand how the eating disorder can affect your ability to move forward in life, especially when there are coinciding disorders. The realization that you may need help takes a certain amount of courage and I’m here to walk along side you on that journey to recovery so you can fulfill your dreams. It will be hard, uncomfortable, and sometimes won’t seem worth it, but I assure you, there is more to life and you have the capability to heal.

I utilize aspects of SFT, CBT, and DBT to help you reach your therapeutic goals.
Brené Brown once said, "Let go of who you think you're supposed to be. Embrace who you are." I would love to walk with you on this journey of embracing who you are as an individual, and who you want to become. Healing is never easy, but you will never have to do it alone. I have a huge passion for seeing people heal and grow into the person they didn’t feel they could become. I strive to create a safe space for anyone who takes the courageous step to share their story with me, as I know this is not an easy ask from anyone.

Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.
Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.
What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.
How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
