I believe that the key to raising healthy well balanced children is to lead by example. Setting and some times re-establishing rules, boundaries and expectations for your children and family is vital for a happy home. My goals as a therapist are to help individuals and families discover balance and peace in their lives and to find a more hopeful perspective of life. I have over 7 years of experience working with children, adolescents and adults. Some of my areas of expertise include: treating depressive disorders, ADHD, and issues of self-esteem. I specialize in working with males 12 and up.
I use mindfulness-based cognitive therapy in an effort to help individuals become more self-aware thus increasing their ability to control thoughts, feelings and behaviors in the present. I help family members learn how to communicate effectively and re-establish good boundaries.
Being a parent is not only the most challenging job I have ever had, but it is also the most rewarding. Our children are presented with a more confusing and chaotic world than I could have ever imagined. Their faith, values and morals are attacked at every turn. I encourage every family to eat dinner together and pray together regularly.
