I have experience diagnosing and treating a variety of presenting issues, including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, adjustment, and ADHD.
My values as a therapist are to provide non-judgmental, empathic, and culturally informed care, while emphasizing an environment founded on personal growth, openness, and honesty. I use a multi-faceted approach to therapy to best fit the unique needs of each client because I recognize one size does not fit all. I often work from a psychodynamic-relational stance, using the client-therapist relationship as a tool to increase my client’s awareness of interactions between self, others, and the world to improve decision-making and enhance life satisfaction.

My niche is within trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, & adhd.
Feel Overwhelmed? Find yourself feeling stuck in a cycle? Have you tried to work on this on your own, only to feel frustrated or defeated. You're not alone. It can be difficult navigating traumatic experiences, waves of grief, the depths of depression, and/or the sheer grip anxiety can have on us. Also sometimes our brains are just diverse within systems that aren't always supportive. Life can be really hard at times, even when you are trying your best. Yet, still there is hope. There are people that care & want to help support you in your journey. Change, healing, insight, and growth are all possible with collaboration & courage.

Part of my practice is dedicated to working with clients who have, or suspect they have, adult ADHD.
We all have occasions throughout life that are particularly difficult or painful. During these times, additional emotional & social support are needed. Therapy is a helpful resource for navigating these inevitable challenges... it is a unique process, as it requires a willingness to look honestly within ourselves, assessing our strengths as well as our limitations. I enjoy working collaboratively with clients. Together we will explore the parts of life that you feel uneasy about, and then proactively develop strategies that can enable more peace of mind & a greater sense of well-being. Shifting from simply surviving... to thriving.

ADHD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.
How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.
Are there specific medications for ADHD?
Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.
How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
