Some of my specialties include working with LGBTQ+ adults, couples, and polyamorous relationships; counseling related to sexual orientation, the "coming out" process, reconciling religious wounds, and other LGBTQIA+ issues. I also provide support with gender identity and mental health concerns for trans & gender non-conforming adults. I offer help in coping with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and other mood disorders; as well as substance abuse treatment for adults with drug or alcohol problems, and sexual or other compulsive behaviors.

As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) I provide individual psychotherapy, viewing each individual within the context of their environment & their inner sources. I have worked at all levels of care. I appreciate collaborating with other treatment providers to provide the best care possible. In the midst of a struggle, we can often lose sight of our strengths, and I work alongside clients to re-connect to their inherent resilience/resources. I solely work with clients experiencing addiction disorders, their families, and co-occurring mental health. I offer virtual sessions for NC residents and am in-network with Aetna (NC Only). I offer virtual and in-person sessions for SC residents and can discuss insurance benefits on a case-by-case basis. I do not accept BCBS of SC. I also enjoy assisting other professionals by providing clinical supervision in North Carolina (CADC, LCAS-A, LCAS) and South Carolina (AADC, LAC). In addition to my masters degree in social work, and my counseling license, I also have a master of divinity degree and 25+ years as a pastor.

I take a person centered, individualized approach to help clients increase happiness. Helping individuals and families strengthen their relationships is an important factor in lowering depression and anxiety and creating emotional wellness.

With 30 years of experience delivering psychological services, I can help you reduce distressing symptoms and navigate stressful situations. I primarily use cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy but will use other modalities as needed for your specific needs. My approach to counseling varies according to the client's individual needs, however, my training has largely focused on psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family systems therapy, and Mindfulness. This broad base of training allows me flexibility to choose research-based interventions that are most appropriate for each client. I am currently accepting clients age 18+, couples and families.
