I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Professional Counselor, and Registered Nurse with certificates in Divorce and Family Mediation and Medical Family Therapy.

My specialty is couples and families. I mostly work with partners who are struggling with communication issues, infidelity, trust, and conflict. I often work with families who are struggling with boundaries and family arguments, as well as issues stemming from a new marriage with children from previous relationships.

The foundation to my approach of counseling, is that clients have to put in the work when they make the decision to start; this is how clients will be the most successful in their journey. Counseling can be messy, and the most impactful thing I can do for my clients is hold space, bring things into awareness that they might be missing, and find different, more effective ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving.

Experiencing trauma can make life feel heavy and overwhelming. When everyday tasks and responsibilities cause you to retreat and steal your sense of security, there doesn't seem to be a way out. I am a compassionate, feeling and caring counselor who will listen to your story with empathy and sensitivity. I work with individuals dealing with anxiety, stress, depression and anger as well as many other mental health issues. I counsel all populations including underprivileged, LGBTQIA, African Americans, veterans, homeless, unemployed, abused or the ill as well as people victimized by various forms of ageism, racism, sexism and other oppressions. My goal is to tenderly and gently assist clients with their troubles and issues such that they can regain confidence and self-esteem in efforts to live productive and fulfilling lives.

I conduct evaluations to help people understand if their struggles are related to a psychological condition such as autism, ADHD, a learning disability, or another unique aspect of themselves.

Many of my clients have anxiety that presents as overthinking, indecision, self-criticism, avoidance, and tying worth to performance. This may show up in relationships, self-esteem, or a sense of overwhelm. Together we will lean into anxiety to re-expand your life, deconstruct your inner-critic, and change patterns keeping you stuck. In my practice, I primarily utilize relationally and developmentally informed Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT). My style is a blend of process and practical, to gain insight and make change when you are ready.

Asking for help is difficult and sometimes we find ourselves battling that next step. It takes bravery and courage to walk through a door and share personal information with an individual you don't know. My goal is to offer a safe environment for any client that walks through my doors and to give them the comfort and respect that they deserve!

My approach to therapy is customized based on the needs of the individual client(s) and draws upon a broad and diverse base of clinical approaches and well-established techniques while incorporating Holistic Modalities including Nutrition, Exercise, and Mindfulness. I frequently utilize Animal Assisted Therapy, so Don’t Be Surprised to see my two certified therapy dogs present at sessions! I am a Certified Master Trainer, with specialty training in Nutrition, DNA Based Wellness & Weight Management, Exercise Recovery Therapy; Life Span Wellness and Health Transformation Exercise.

I provide neuropsychological evaluations to individuals ages 2-25 who are having difficulties at school and at home due to cognitive and/or emotional/behavioral concerns. There may be questions about ADHD, autism, learning disability, anxiety, or other issues, as well as how to address those concerns.

I’m certified in existential-humanistic therapy from the Existential-Humanistic Institute in California, and while I do incorporate other modalities of therapy, I take a predominantly philosophical approach, focusing on the human condition and how we might best navigate a variety of existential concerns that may hinder us from living fully—engaging in self-sabotage for example.

I have been treating all age groups in the St. Louis area for over 35 years. My in depth training as both a psychologist and psychoanalyst for children and adults provides a full spectrum of skills to treat short and long term issues for all age groups. I am highly skilled at meeting a person where they are to help them, through connection with me and my understanding of them, reach new and emotionally healthier places in their life. I have been in practice for 30 years. I have trained extensively in attachment focused traumas that result in Complex PTSD. I have worked extensively with childhood physical/sexual abuse as well as emotional, developmental neglect. I understand the impact of these childhood issues on adult life. I also work effectively with grief. I am looking for clients who want to work through childhood traumas, grief and challenges in life using EMDR. I am interested in clients who want to reconnect with parts of themselves that you dislike or have disowned so you can be a more complete version of yourself.
