I am a family-oriented psychotherapist. I work individually with adults and youth, and with families together. How we see ourselves in our families - past, present, future - often provides the foundation for how we form our initial identity. Our identity, in turn, shapes how we act at home and in the world. My clinical background in Mental Health began as an undergrad and continued through grad school, working for the public sector for the Department of Children & Families where I worked with children, then the elderly in skilled nursing facilities and with adolescents in group homes. I then went on to work as a Nurse Navigator and provided services that included counseling and advocacy for oncology patients at one of the largest cancer hospitals in South Florida. In addition to this, I have also worked with adults in inpatient rehab for substance abuse and court ordered treatment, and served outpatient clients in the LGBTQ community.

I truly enjoy supporting first-time counseling clients struggling with finding themselves, whether it be interpersonally or professionally. I enjoy building and working on motivation levels while offering guidance to clients in preparation to make some life changes.

As a committed practitioner with more than 20 years’ experience, my private practice is primarily devoted not only addressing the conditions related to mental health but also identifying and addressing the unmet needs related to them. I bring a level of empathy and caring to all my patients. My private practice is primarily working with individuals, couples and facilitating training and supervision. Hello! Luis, Licensed Mental Health Counselor at your service. My career began down in Miami working in a crisis unit where all different kinds of diagnoses were treated. Probably the most educational experience in my entire career! I later got my Masters in Mental Health Counseling and began seeing clients individually, couples, and families. I found a lot of success working with ADHD, Anxiety, and Depression. Recently, I specialized working with families who have experienced trauma, abuse, and PTSD.
