Sunshine Coast Health Centre is a private, licensed, residential addiction treatment facility for men. While other programs focus on abstinence or reducing harm, we believe that the recovery process needs to move beyond mere healing. Our programs are based largely on the theory and practice of Meaning-Centered Therapy (MCT), developed by psychologist Dr. Paul T. P. Wong. Our 5-week residential Traumatic Stress Recovery Program (TSRP), followed by 6 weeks of Post-Treatment Support, is a customized program for individuals who have experienced trauma or who suffer from symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Every person experiences trauma differently. A family member ( i.e. spouse, sister/ brother can join the program in a week 1 and week 2). Our highly-trained clinical team can help you understand PTSD and its comorbid conditions, and provide support tailored to your experience and symptoms. Clients participate in individual and group therapy, cardiovascular activities, yoga and mindfulness, nutrition coaching, psycho-educational sessions, and more. For those who are struggling with depression, anxiety, addiction, or work-related trauma, a stable treatment program can make the difference between recovery and relapse. But putting your family and career on hold to receive inpatient treatment is a disruption many people aren’t able to make. Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs) provide effective treatment for substance addictions, mental illness, and trauma/PTSD. Offered online across Canada and in-person at select locations, the 8-week intensive program offers 9 hours per week of group and individual therapy sessions, followed by 10 months of Aftercare sessions to support ongoing recovery. These evidence-based programs use proven therapeutic techniques and psychoeducation to help patients learn the tools and skills they need to achieve long-term recovery. Venture Academy is Canada’s first and longest running private, direct access, adolescent residential program. Since 2001, Venture Academy has been providing assessment, treatment and educational support services for struggling teens, ages 12-18, suffering from mental health issues, substance use and other emotional or behavioural challenges. Our program is licensed and accredited and heavily focused on strength building. Families are actively involved in the treatment process to improve the success of their child. Venture Academy has served over 1,600 youth and families from every corner of the country and internationally.
