LEWISTON — An Auburn man was killed Monday night when his motorcycle crashed on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Bridge, according to police.
Anthony Jokinen, 31, was operating his 2009 Harley-Davidson FXDL west on Russell Street around 10 p.m. when he crashed on the bridge headed toward Auburn, said Lewiston police Lt. Derrick St. Laurent. Jokinen was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The initial investigation (cited) excessive speed and impairment as contributing factors in the crash,” St. Laurent said.
The overpass was closed most of the night while investigators and an accident reconstructionist mapped the scene and collected evidence.
