Opera Maine presents two performances of Giuseppe Verdi’s iconic opera “Aida” at Merrill Auditorium in Portland.

Show dates are July 25 at 7:30 p.m. and July 28 at 2:30 p.m.

The show’s director is Dona D. Vaughan, and world-class singers, along with the Opera Maine Orchestra, will bring to life songs written in the 1800s for a show set in ancient Egypt. Maestro Israel Gursky’s baton will lead the way.

“Aida” is a four-act opera sung in Italian. English translation will be projected above the stage.

Tickets range from $35 to $140, and there are free tickets available to anyone 25 and under.
