Falmouth’s Concerts in the Park series, a Falmouth tradition for over two decades, is back this summer with music by bands Pan Fried Steel, Misspent Youth, and Jeezum Crow.

The concerts are free and take place at Falmouth’s Village Park, right off of Hat Trick Drive.

The next concert is Monday, July 8. Pan Fried Steel, a Yarmouth-based community steel drum band, will perform. Taking the stage July 22 will be Misspent Youth, a cover band playing tunes from the Rolling Stones, Tom Petty and Billy Joel. The season will wrap up Aug. 5 with Jeezum Crow, a Portland-based band that plays originals and covers – a mix of Americana, rock and other genres.

All shows take place at 6:30 p.m. and run for an hour. Families are encouraged to bring picnics, lawn chairs and blankets. In the event of rain, the concert moves inside to the Mason-Motz Activity Center.

“It’s a nice, easy, gentle family atmosphere,” said Kate Harris, recreation coordinator for Falmouth Parks and Community Programs. “We get about somewhere between 100 and 150 people.”

The audience is usually made up of a mix of people that organizers see every year and families stopping by for the first time.

The series is put on by Harris and Lucky D’Ascanio, the director of Falmouth Parks and Community Programs.

They try to schedule local acts as often as possible, Harris said.
