Memorial Day Parade
and wreath laying

The Gray Memorial Day Parade on will kick off at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Russell School, 8 Gray Park, and continue to the Civil War Memorial at the corner of Shaker Road and Main Street for a wreath laying ceremony. Then, the parade will continue to American Legion Post 86 at 15 Lewiston Road where it will conclude. There will be a ceremony at 12:20 p.m. with remarks by American Legion Post 86 Post Commander and the Town Manager Michael Foley. Food and refreshments will follow.

The town hosted a Meet the Candidates Forum and a recording is available on the town’s social media.

Town Council candidates include: Anne Gass, Michael Johnson, Michael Bailey and Krista Chappell. They are running for two 3-year terms to expire June 2027 and the balance of one 3-year term to expire June 2025.

SAD 15 School Board candidates include James Manzer and write-in candidate Sam Pfeifle. They are running for two 3-year terms to expire June 2027.

Adam Wilkinson is the sole candidate for one 5-year term to expire June 2029 for the Gray Water District.

Comic artist and
book sale at library

The Gray Public Library will host comic book creator Ryan L. Higgins Saturday, May 25, at 10:30 a.m. Higgins will talk about how to draw comic book characters.

The library’s Spring Book Sale takes place June 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 5 Hancock St.

Church holds
public supper

The First Congregational Church of Gray will host a church supper Saturday, May 25, at 5 p.m., at the Parish House, 5 Brown St. Meals are $10 and include casseroles and salads, baked pea and red kidney beans, red hot dogs, bread and a variety of desserts and beverages. Pay at the door. For more information, call 657-4338. The building is wheelchair accessible.

Legion Riders to
host bike rodeo

The American Legion Riders will hold a Bike Safety Rodeo on June 1 at 10 a.m. Volunteers are needed and used bike donations are also welcome. The rodeo will include bicycle mechanical checks, helmet checks and instructional rides on a closed traffic skills course. American Legion Post 86 is located at 15 Lewiston Road.
