Mayor Ted Wheeler declared a State of Emergency due to Extreme Heat beginning July 2, 2024, continuing through July 7, 2024. High temperatures are expected to arrive starting July 4, 2024. 

The National Weather Service forecasts the temperature in Portland Metro region to reach triple digits on Saturday, July 6, 2024 and has issued an excessive heat warning beginning Friday July 5, 2023, through Sunday July 7, 2024.

Inclement weather also poses a risk of power outages, and other interruptions in utility services.
