Portland City Council unanimously approves $8.2 billion budget

Portland City Council unanimously approved Mayor Ted Wheeler's FY24-25 Proposed Budget on Wednesday, May 15 2024. A final vote will be held June 12 and the budget goes into effect on July 1.

“As we look to the future, my budget lays a strong foundation for a resilient Portland where every resident has a chance to thrive,” said Mayor Ted Wheeler. 

FY 2024-25 Approved Budget

This budget funds services delivered by 6 Service Areas and over 7,000 employees. This budget is the culmination of months of dialogue and work from Council offices, City budget staff, bureau leadership and Portlanders.
