The area has been in transition from an agricultural to an urban environment since the first subdivision plat was filed in 1911. Some of the main street commercial that was once served by a street car on Sandy Boulevard remains viable today.

The project is in the design phase. Construction is anticipated to begin in fall 2025 and it will take about 18 months to complete.

Construction begins week of July 8 to build new sidewalk and improved crossings on NE Shaver Street between 115th Avenue and Parkrose Middle School
Beginning this week, crews will work to construct a sidewalk on the south side of NE Shaver between NE 115th Avenue and the Parkrose Middle School campus.
