Updates about tonight's races in New Jersey

🌖Our chat has ended, but you can still read it back.

The other really big race in New Jersey is freshman Rep. Tom Malinowski's reelection against Republican Tom Kean Jr., the son of the revered former Gov. Tom Kean Sr. This is a very different district than Van Drew's. It's in the NYC commuter belt, very wealthy and well-educated. It used to be solidly Republican, but not in the Trump era

Kennedy is a teacher who married former Rhode Island Rep. Patrick Kennedy, son of Ted Kennedy. She’s not shied away from running an anti-Trump campaign even though this district went for him by about 5 points in the last election. It went for President Obama twice in 2008 and 2012. She’s got two things that make her an appealing candidate for Democrats: Kennedy contacts that enabled her to raise more money than Van Drew, and being native to the district, where her dad was a local elected official.

The most watched race in the state is Rep. Jeff Van Drew’s reelection against Democrat Amy Kennedy.  Van Drew is the former Democrat recruited by President Trump to the Republican Party when he wouldn’t vote to impeach the president. He justifies his party switch by saying the Democratic Party turned too extreme for him (the reality is he switched because he was losing the support of the South Jersey Democratic machine that helped build his political career)

Hey Charlie! Polls closed at 8 p.m. The AP has already called the state for Biden and Sen. Booker. They were never in question

Hey mfriedman NJ polls just closed, right? What are the big races you're watching there?
