Zeyar Lynn is a poet, critic, writer, translator, language instructor, who lives in Yangon (Rangoon). He is a highly influential leader of postmodern and L=A=N=G=U=A=G=E poetry in Burma. He is the author of Distinguishing Features (2006), Real/Life: Prose Poems(2009) and Kilimanjaro (2010), and he has translated various Western poets such as Wisława Szymborska, Tomas TranströmerJohn Ashbery, Sylvia Plath, and Charles Bernstein. With James Byrne and Ko Ko Thett, Lynn is editing the first anthology of Burmese poetry in English. He is one of the editors of the quarterly Poetry World. He teaches English at a specialized language school.
