A Canadian documentary project about Tempest Storm, the Vegas burlesque queen whose Zelig-like younger life included affairs with Elvis Presley and John Kennedy and a roommate named Marilyn Monroe, won the Pitchfest competition at the recent WestDoc conference. The doc is being produced by Toronto residents Kaitlyn Regehr and Nimisha Mukerji, who also is directing. Storm, now 85, has been back in the news recently after collaborating with musician Jack White on an album.
