I love salamanders. This is a black-chinned red salamander from Georgia (USA). It looks like two kinds of bright orange salamanders or newts I've seen in Connecticut: the northern spring salamander and the red-spotted newt in its juvenile "eft" stage.

Adult male from Tennessee. Males of this race of two-lined salamander develop elongated protuberances from their snout--called cirri--which are presumably used for chemoreception while pursuing females. This male looks like he was just starting to grow his out.
