Marie Curie died 80 years ago today from leukaemia caused by her research. During World War 1 she helped to equip ambulances with x-ray equipment, which she herself drove to the front lines. Marie Skłodowska-Curie (1867–1934)née en Pologne. Elle vint en France en 1891. Elle est la première femme à recevoir un prix Nobel de sciences physiques en  1903. Elle reçut un deuxième ptrix Nobel en 1911, cette fois en chimie. Marie, et Pierre Curie isolèrent le polonium, et le radium. Elle a activement participé à la promotion  de l'utilisation du radium dans le domaine médical, tout au long de sa vie.
